Operations Manager
Karen Cripps
I have worked in the care industry for over 23 years. I began my career as a care assistant and worked my way up through to a Registered Home Manager. I studied and gained recognised care qualifications along the way. I have a passion for helping care homes that are struggling with compliance, turning homes from rated requires improvement or inadequate to rated good and outstanding by CQC. I have worked all over the country supporting and helping homes turn their ratings around. For the past 3 years I have been working with Caring Hands rejuvenate all their homes through compliance, strategy and many other domains.
Head of Care
Liz Hay
My name is Elizabeth, but everyone knows me as Liz. I have over 35 years' experience working within the care sector starting many moons ago as a young carer via the old YTS scheme and working my way through the ranks to a management position. These years of experience I believe shows my dedication and commitment as well as giving me valuable knowledge. The team at Caring Hands are hardworking and loyal as well as being caring and approachable. Finding a care home for a loved one is a hard and trying time, and it is my job to ensure the utmost is done to make this transition as easy as possible by not only supporting the care needs of our residents but the whole family too.

Alison Knight
I started in care in 2006 working in mental health as a support worker. I then moved onto learning disabilities as a senior until 2017. In 2018 I worked as a full-time activities’ coordinator for an elderly care home with dementia. In 2021 I joined Caring Hands as a senior care member and was promoted to Registered Home Manager of The Lilacs Residential Home. My passion is to be providing the best level of care possible to vulnerable elderly people, making sure they are safe and well cared for, ensuring their days are fulfilled engaging in activities.
Registered Manager of Britannia Lodge Nursing Home
Shirley Hatten
I have been at Britannia Lodge since 2013 and have been working in mental health for 30+ years in some form or another. When I left school, I was an office junior for a very large company and worked my way around all aspects of office duties and gained a degree. I have 3 other degrees in alternative therapies which aided me with my own therapy business for over 37 years. My previous job prior to my role here, I worked as an administrator and care co-ordinator for a large care company.
My passion in mental health is loving to support and care for people using my skills and background and to do that gives me a sense of immense gratification. It also feels so rewarding to see some people make progress overtime, which is something I think about every day when I come to work. I have found that understanding the diagnosis of mental health in residents and finding triggers, makes a real difference to the lives of those suffering.
